I'm Stephen, and I do the work myself.

I have been pulling things apart to see how they work since 1979: ham radio, electronics and computers first, then a 40+ year career in telecommunications and systems integration. I trained in network engineering with Telecom NZ (now Spark) and have worked on the tower, in the lab and underground ever since, across microwave and wireless, fibre, Wi-Fi and IoT, leading product development and designing networks and solutions for distributors and systems integrators.

Most recently I designed underground communications for mines and civil tunnel construction, covering wireless, Ethernet, tracking and IoT. I have written complex government tenders and answered many more from the other side, and I hold a Construction White Card, Energex electrical awareness training, CWNA, and a range of HPE networking and IT certifications.

I completed hands-on deep learning and computer vision training in the late 2010s, years before ChatGPT made AI mainstream, so I watched today's AI take shape rather than discovering it with the hype. I am not a tradie: my background is network and solution design, systems integration and product development. I have spent my career alongside the people who install the gear, and I still love getting into the detail. wildlynx.ai is where I put that experience, and practical AI, to work on engineering and the harder jobs, from the Sunshine Coast.

Today that experience goes into practical AI: automations that save small businesses time, concept demos such as Network Studio, and ideas for bringing intelligence into engineering work.
